Father Issac Lara:  Pastor

My name is Fr. Isaac Lara. I saw the need of bringing God to the world in my college years. After some discernment, I joined Mundelein Seminary, where I did my theological studies. I was ordained a priest of the archdiocese of Chicago in 2014. After serving as an associate pastor at OLPH in Glenview, I became the pastor at St. Catherine Labouré in 2019. Serving the people at St. Catherine Labouré parish and school has been a blessing. I am grateful for the many ways I experience God's love through others.

John Blumenshine:  Principal

I am so proud to be the Principal of SCL.  For the last five years of my life, I have had the pleasure of working at a place like no other. St. Catherine Labouré’s sprawling suburban campus is tucked away in a quiet corner of Glenview. But the work, and accomplishments of our staff and students is anything but quiet. I invite you to join us in our mission of evangelization through education and the Crusader Way. When you select SCL, you are embraced in a family committed to the mission of Catholic faith.

Anne Kovochich:  Office Administrator

Hello Crusader family!  My SCL journey started in 2017 after we moved here from California. I love the diverse and welcoming community, and the compassion and dedication of the staff is beyond measure. I spent a few years volunteering at the school as an aide before I was hired as Resource Teacher. I have participated in the Hugs and Stitches ministry since 2018 and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion since 2019. These days, you can find me in the school office as Office Administrator. I am happy to help with anything that may come up, so please feel free to reach out anytime.

Megan Mullarkey:  Marketing and Admissions Director

I am the Marketing and Admissions Director at SCL as well as a member of the School Board, Parent Club, and Women’s Club. I am behind the scenes at almost every event at our wonderful school working with the amazing staff and volunteers. I have three fabulous children who attend SCL. This is our family’s third year at SCL and we are so blessed with the friendships we made along the way.

Kari Turco:  Operations Manager

Hi SCL Families! I was self-employed when my kids were young. Later, I moved into Finance/Admin Management with a few nonprofits that offered GED Classes to Waukegan at-risk teens and Art Classes to the Kenosha youth. I specialize in increasing revenues, reducing expenses and my favorite letters in the alphabet are G.R.A.N.T. & S.

Val Silva:  Building Manager

My name is Val Silva, my role at SCL is Building Manager. I make sure that everything is running properly and that the school's environment is clean and organized. I have been working at SCL for four years, and my kids have been coming here for 9 years. We chose SCL because it seemed like a great school that would provide our kids with an excellent education. Another reason why I like SCL so much would be because of the diversity and the positive environment I work in.

Eileen Savino:  Athletic Director / 8th Grade Teacher

I’ve been a Catholic school educator for 40 years and love every minute of it. My life’s work provides me with the opportunity to instill the pillars of our shared Catholic faith in my students’ education and moral development. As a junior high educator specializing in Math and Religion, my goal has always been to teach our students’ respect, self-worth, and kindness. As Athletic Director, Student Council Moderator, Confirmation Advisor, and Graduation Advisor, I’m very involved on a more personal level with “my kids” and guide them to thrive outside of the classroom. Warmest welcome to all our new and current SCL community. Go Crusaders!

Helen Barcham:  School Board President

My name is Helen Barcham. I am a single mom with two boys at SCL. We have been at SCL since 2019 and the boys are now in the 6th grade and 8th grade. Since 2019, I have been involved in the Parent Club and was the Parent Club President from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to the present time, I am the School Board President and still active in our Parent Club as well. Finally, I volunteer for hot lunch for the past two years now every week. SCL is a phenomenal school with its strength in academics, a kind and hardworking staff, knowledgeable and committed teachers, and an overall sense of family throughout the school.

Diana LeFevre:  School Representative on Finance Council

My name is Diana LeFevre and my children have attended St. Catherine Labouré School for the past 7 years. SCL has a small family feel with a wonderful education, teachers invested in students, diversity and extracurricular activities that allow my boys to flourish. I am currently on the School Board and Finance Council. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions on a parent's perspective of the school or questions on getting involved with the school. There are many opportunities to meet other parents and be involved with your children's class.

Dina Sulkin:  Parent Club President

Welcome to SCL! Our family has been a part of SCL for 3 years. All three of our daughters have been a part of the SCL community at some point over these past three years. SCL is such a wonderful place - the academics are top notch, the community is unlike any community we have been a part of - the families are so great, and the teachers and staff are some of the smartest, caring we have ever met - they truly have the students best interests in everything they do. SCL feels like a second home to our kids and our family. I strive to continue to build this community in the best ways possible, so please reach out to me with any ideas, feedback or any interest to take part in school events!

As St. Catherine Labouré said “one must see God in everyone,” we strive to see Christ in everyone we encounter, to be at peace with ourselves, and to trust in the guidance of God.
