The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe takes place each year on December 12 to commemorate the apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe to Juan Diego. The Shrine in Des Plaines has had an annual celebration since its inception ten years ago. The Shrine's observance is the largest gathering of pilgrims honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe in the United States. During December 11 and 12 alone, the Shrine attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all over to come worship and celebrate. This year, Bishop Jeff Grob presided at mass and blessed the newly rebuilt Chapel of Resurrection.
